Market Rasen Racecourse news release: Ladies' Night is social highlight of 2011

Monday 8 August: Lincolnshire's ladies don't need Royal Ascot because they're on to a winner at Market Rasen Racecourse's social occasion of the year on Saturday (13 AUGUST).

Following the success of the racecourse's Ladies' Day in July, thousands of the fairer sex will once again be getting out their finery, dressing up and joining their partners or friends for one of the fashion highlights of the Lincolnshire calendar.

Ladies' Night is one of the most popular horse racing days, and there will be valuable prizes to be won by the 'Best Dressed Lady and by 'Miss Market Rasen Racecourse'.

Pip Kirkby, the racecourse's managing director, said: "Horse racing and fashion go together like good food and fine wine.  Lincolnshire's ladies just love getting dressed up for a night at the races.  And, with so many fashionable ladies at the racecourse, it makes for a fantastic night for the men folk as well.

"Our Ladies' Night is one that ladies across the county and beyond look forward to every year."

Ladies' Night prizes:

* The 'Best Dressed Lady' wins a selection of jewellery from John Greed at Home, a bottle of Champagne and a bouquet of flowers.  The runner-up receives a £40 voucher from 'Love Me' in House of Fraser, Lincoln, Champagne and flowers.  Third place wins Champagne and flowers.

* The winner of the 'Miss Market Rasen Racecourse' competition receives a meal for two with a bottle of wine at Market Rasen's Advocate Arms, Champagne and a bouquet of flowers.  The runner-up wins a £50 voucher from Touches beauty salon in Market Rasen, Champagne and a bouquet of flowers.  Third place gets Champagne and flowers.

There will also be a chance for visitors to enter a competition in the racecard, with the winner getting to meet Peter Andre at the Rasen Rocks meeting on Saturday 20 August.

The horse racing is between 5.50pm and 8.10pm, with gates open from 3.30pm.
